Inclusion is a mixed media acrylic on canvas painting which includes a collage of a variety of papers. The bedrock of our country was based on the vision of our Forefathers that we were all created equal. Their message was inclusive rather than exclusive. Beauty is evident when all are recognized in equality of cultures and interests. In the chaos, we sometimes have to look closer at the original intent, and sometimes its truth boomerangs back for us to look again. At the end of the day, is Inclusion elusive?
The painting is created in crucifix form, with the “We the People…” paragraph from the Declaration of Independence at its heart. Many nations, many colors and many interests form the details of the cross which lays on a “bedrock” of slate representing its foundation.
